The Taipei Philharmonic Children’s Choir originally developed as an encore of the Taipei Philharmonic Chorus,was founded in 1989 for the promotion on enhancing children’s music education,and whose repertoire includes both Chinese and Western folksongs,classic and also contemporary works. Through a wide range of music courses,public performances,and charity activities,the Children’s Choir is devoting itself in providing a healthy environment for children to experience the beauty and joy of music. The Choir has continuously been active in carrying out their’ which is shown in the following list of their crucial activities in the recent years. July to August, 2008 2008 Vivace International Choral Festival in Hungary, and concert tour in Hungary, Chez Republic, and Germany. July 2009 “A Voyage of Songs” International Choral Festival, Penang, Malaysia July 2010 28th International Music Festival at Cantonigros, Catalonia, Spain July 2011 Awarded silver medal in folklore category and youth choir category of 1st Grand Prix of Choral Music, Graz, Austria. July 2012 Held Performing Arts Summer Camp for children in Aspire Park, Tao Yuan. Invited Kari Ala-Pöllänen's (Finland) as guest conductor and held concert in National Concert Hall, Taipei. December 2012 Invited by Cultural Affairs Bureau of Peng Hu County, held “Jingle Bell” concert in Peng Hu Performance Hall, Ma-Kong Island. July 2013 18th Festival Choral International en Provence, France June 2014 Performed at the “16th International Choral Kathaumixw” in Canada and held a concert tour in Vancouver and Los Angeles, USA. July 2015 Performed at the “2015 4th Mediterranean Music Festival” and the “Rome Music Festival”.

Hiang-yun Fu is a senior choral director and instructor of music in Taiwan. Fu is currently a full time teacher and choral director at Taipei Municipal Nanhu High School and Taipei Philharmonic Youth Choir. Fu founded Nanhu High School Choir (NHSC) in 2003. Under her coaching, the choir has delivered sterling performances and won first and second prizes for excellence in annual national competitions. Since 2003, NHSC has made numerous visits to Beijing, Inner-Mongolia, Singapore and Shanghai for choir exchanges at well known institutes. Fu also conducted Taipei youth and children’s choir participating in the international choir festival and competitions: including 2010 45Jornades international De Cant Coral and Festival Barcelona, Spain, 2011 1st World Choir Championships-Graz Austria (Championship round of Silver awards in Children’s and Folklore category) 2013 18th Festival Choral international en Provence, France. Personal Awards and Prizes 2008/7 Fu was the coach of Kuang Ching Chorus and participated in the 21st Century International Oriental Choir & Music Competition in Singapore. Fu won an award for best conductor.
