ENSEMBLES 2026

Vocal District Project

Vocal District Project

The Vocal District Project at BORG Dreierschützengasse in Graz consists of around 40 students aged 15 to 18. The choir reflects the colorfulness, diversity, and liveliness of a special school community.
The Vocal District Project was founded in the fall of 2025 - just a few months after a tragic event that deeply shook the entire school. On June 10, 2025, the school community at BORG Dreierschützengasse was the victim of a shooting rampage that left deep wounds. Thanks to the initiative of Christian Bender and Philipp Pointner, the school was invited to the SCL Festival, which led to the reestablishment of the school choir under the name Vocal District Project.
Singing and making music together are intended to give strength, confidence, and new perspectives. The choir symbolizes the belief that community supports us, especially in difficult times. Musically, too, the Vocal District Project is open and diverse. The repertoire is colorful and varied and focuses on the joy of singing together – we sing music that is joyful and creates a sense of togetherness.
BORG Dreierschützengasse is a school with a variety of subject areas, with music playing a central role. With the Vocal District Project, this focus is not only artistically, but also humanly and socially tangible.
