Jeugdkoor Rondinella

Youth Choir Rondinella Rondinella is the youth choir associated with MAAK, the academy for art education in Knokke-Heist, Belgium. The choir is open to all students 10 years and older. Youth choir Rondinella guarantees a unique choral formation and is accompanied by Hilde Van Cleemput - pianist, Elisabeth Colson - vocal coach and Kristof Allaert - conductor. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Each choir member receives singing lessons. Rondinella has a rich tradition, performs regularly, takes part in choral competitions and goes on a choral trip every two years. In 2022, they won first prize at the European Youth Music Festival in Neerpelt and a silver medal at the competition of Musica Orbis in Prague in 2024.

Kristof Allaert

Conductor

Kristof Allaert (Brugge, 1979) earned a master's degree in choral conducting (Utrecht Conservatory of Music) and in piano (Conservatory of Antwerp). He has been conducting various choirs for over 20 years. Currently he is conductor of the youth choir Rondinella at MAAK and of chamber choir Linos in Ghent. Professionally, Kristof teaches piano, ensemble and is piano accompanist at the school of arts in Knokke-Heist, Belgium.
