ENSEMBLES 2007

Zhuhai First Senior High School Chorus

Zhuhai First Senior High School Chorus

The Zhuhai First Senior High School Chorus, founded in 2002, is an elite collection of outstanding musicians. The volunteer chorus consists of 60 members between the ages of 14 and 18, both male and female, who all have passed stringent auditions and a careful selection process to become a part of one of China’s finest choral performing groups.

The Zhuhai First Senior High School Chorus, honored and recognized throughout Southeast Asia, is known for its broad range; under the direction of Mr. Liu He, it performs classical choral works and masterpieces as well as popular Western music and folk songs. “It is my goal to instill an in-depth knowledge of the various styles we perform,” says Liu He, “though it is just as important that we foster the students’ enthusiasm and team spirit. We rejoice in sharing our talents and incredible vocal abilities.” Clearly, his leadership has born fruit: since 2003, his Chorus has consistently won the Youth Chorus Event in Zhuhai, as well as the first prize in the Students Chorus Event of China’s Guangdong Province.
