In the morning, you will be taken on the Sound of Music Tour

Discover Salzburg in the footsteps of “The Sound of Music” and see the locations where the world-famous film was shot. Some of the highlights and film locations that you will see on your tour include: the Gardens of Mirabell Palace, Leopoldskron Palace, Hellbrunn Nonnberg Abbey, St. Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang.

The "Great Hall" (Großer Saal), with its unique ambiance and ornate splendor, is suitable for concerts seating up to 800 visitors. The excellent acoustics enhance concerts with soloists, chamber music ensembles or even large orchestras with programs ranging from classical to light music. The special ambiance gives every event a festive and exclusive atmosphere. Since May 2010,  a new organ, the Propter Homines Organ, has graced the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation.

Vienna, one of the great capitals of Europe was for centuries home to the Habsburg rulers of the Austro- Hungarian Empire. Today the empire is long gone, but many reminders of the city‘s imperial heyday remain, carefully preserved by the tradition-loving Viennese.

From the late 18^th century on, Vienna‘s culture -- particularly its music -- was famous throughout Europe. Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Strauss, Mahler, and Bruckner all lived in the city. And at the tail end of the 19^th century the city‘s artists and architects -- Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Josef Hoffmann, Otto Wagner, and Adolf Loos among them -- brought about an artistic revolution that swept away the past and set the stage for the radically experimental art of the 20^th century.

The “Haus der Musik” (House of Music) presents a very special way to enjoy music – a unique high-tech voyage of discovery into the phenomenon of music – where sounds become visible, organ pipes may be walked on and visitors can become virtual conductors and composers.



Optional: Composer houses & Music- related museums in Vienna
Vienna, as the heart of classical music, has a range of different smaller museums to offer which are related to music and famous composers. The following is a selection of museums, if you want more information, we will gladly help you out!

- Haydnhaus: visit Joseph Haydn’s apartment where he lived during his last 12 years of his life. His music, his lifestyle and his growing old are the center topics in the exhibition.

- Schubert’s residences: visit Franz Schubert’s birth place and the place where he died, both showing very interesting exhibitions about Schubert’s life and masterpieces. - Johann Strauss Apartment: Johann Strauss, the master of the Viennese Waltz, lived in this residence from 1863 to 1870. Within this time, he composed the famous Op. 314 (“The Blue Danube”), the inofficial hymn of Vienna

- Mozart Apartment: It is the only surviving apartment of Mozart in Vienna, showing an exhibition about both Mozart’s life and work in Vienna, and the actual rooms where Mozart and his family used to live.

- Beethovens residences: There are two different of Beethoven’s residences open to public. One of them is the Eroicahaus, his summer residence in the northwest of Vienna, where he composed his third symphony “Eroica”. Secondly there is the Palasquati apartment in the heart of Vienna, where he spent 8 years of his life. Another exhibition is in Heiligenstadt. It documents the "Heiligenstädter Testament" he wrote in 1802 – the letter to his two brothers which he never sent and in which he expressed his despair over his advancing deafness.

ARRIVAL IN PRAGUE

Prague, the city of hundred spires is the living soul of the Czech Republic. Prague has been a junction of European trade routes and a political and social centre for centuries.
As history passed through Prague it left indelible mark everywhere, as well as many cultures that had met in Prague during past times. This beautiful mixture of many styles from Romanesque and Baroque to Art Nouveau, Cubist and contemporary styles together with the Jewish Quarter and innumerable entertainment opportunities has created the unforgettable atmosphere and made Prague one of the worthiest places in the world to visit.
The historic heart of Prague, due to its extraordinary character, is on the list of the World‘s monuments of UNESCO, along with the cities of Cesky Krumlov, Telc, Kromeriz, Lednice-Valtice and others.

INTERNATIONAL ENCOUNTER CONCERT PERFORMANCE (#4) in Prague’s world famous Smetana hall OR the Dvorák Hall at the Rudolfinum (Subject to reconfirmation)

The Smetana Hall, located in the Municipal House is a gorgeous example of Art Nouveau design and brilliant acoustics. This world famous concert hall has a seating capacity of 1200 seats and features an original Art Nouveau organ and romantic colorful decor from famous Czech painters and sculptors, the finest artists of the high Art Nouveau movement, among them the famous Alfons Mucha. The Municipal House is also home to the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Located alongside the river, the Rudolfinum is the second most significant Neo-Renaissance structure in Prague, after the National Theatre. The Rudolfinum was built between 1876-1884. In the early 20th century, it played an important role in the development of Czechoslovakia, with the seat of the state parliament sited here between the two world wars. Today, the Rudolfinum is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1896. They perform classical concerts throughout the year in the largest concert hall in the building, the Dvorák Hall. The Dvorák Hall is one of the two main concert halls in Prague (the other is the Smetana Hall at the Municipal House.)
