Thomas Asanger

Symphonic Band Jury & Workshop Lecturer

Thomas Asanger was born in Linz (Upper Austria) in 1988 and has now taken up residence in Vienna. Mainly due to his composition ‚Grand Canyon‘ (published by Tierolff Muziekcentrale in the Netherlands), of which the sheet music edition is sold in almost all of Europe, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the USA, he has achieved an international reputation.
Since 2008 he has been studying for a degree in Music Education (Major in Conducting) at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 2007 he was rewarded with a grant from the Ministry of Culutral Affairs in Austria. Since 2009 he is involved in the Autrian Federal Youth Council and in the Austrian Music Council, where he advocates the rights of young people.
