Puchheimer JugendKammer Orchester

The PYCO was founded at the end of 1992 by Simone Burger-Michielsen
and her husband Peter Michielsen (Puchheim is situated in
the west of Munich/Bavaria). The orchestra has 30 string musicians,
the average age is about 16 years.

In the meantime different successful chamber music ensembles
were established out of the orchestra. In 1999 for example
three quartets won first prices at Jugend Musiziert on the
district level and a first and second price on the national
level.
In 2002 there were one trio and one quartet successful in
this competition in Germany, 2005 there were four quartets.
